We've been home for a week, and to answer your question, YES, it is the best week one would dream of when they move back in with their parents at age 31 with a husband and a daughter. The party never ends! I mean, really, what could possibly go wrong??
It was a crazy idea to begin with, but we are lucky that we have a place to stay while we get on our feet. Thank you to my Mom and Dad.
This weekend, my parents threw us a welcome home/baby shower/summer bbq party. It was lovely to see so many people, even though I barely saw everyone. EK did very well, even though she woke up at 5:30am and maybe had an hour and a half of nap time, total, during the whole day. We also got a lot of sweet loot, and I look forward to dressing EK to the nines for the next year.
Tonight, I pitched in and made some dinner. I found it delicious. Chicken with oregano, lemon juice, and feta, and some sauteed zucchinis and summer squash on the side. Unfortunately, dinner was so good, I'll probably have to start making it more often. Damn! Just when I thought I could get away with leeching off my parents for the rest of my life!
Also, I've taken to calling my daughter 'Beverly.' I think it's hilarious.
And finally, having access to a car has been epic. The SJC is learning his way around Metropolis (and Framingham and Wellesley) thanks to a couple of days in a row, trying to get Beverly to fall asleep in the car - and succeeding. Tomorrow, we may tour beautiful Wayland. Who knows! The world is our oyster.

Totally with you on the car-sleeping baby thing. Sounds like you are settling in great and your dinner sounds delicious :)
Due to the unexpected job, husband and I are moving in with my parents for a bit, hopefully just a week or two, before we find our own place in the area.
Throw my sister who recently graduated from college, my brother and other sister who don't go back to school for a week, and a family friend's son who needs a place to stay in the area for a month and it should be an adventure...
Good luck with the rest of your stay. Hope the weather isn't causing you guys any problems!
