This and That

  • Driving back from Sturbridge this evening, after all the traffic had stopped (F*ck you, New York and New Jersey drivers. Get off my turnpike and go to college in your own state,) the SJC and I were fortunate enough to witness a hot air balloon float over the Mass Pike. We were not alone in this sight. All the drivers braked to a crawl just to see who was in this balloon. Even the Statie who had pulled over a speeding car paused to look up. It was a shared experience and very cool. And because I'm watching season 2 of 'Lost,' I wondered if it was Henry Gale but then remembered he died on the island, probably killed by Ben.

  • And as a side note, frankly, I'm pissed off at the writers of Lost for admitting they made stuff up as they went along. I feel cheated by this, and I strongly feel that I'm entitled a monetary sum to make up for my time spent and energy exerted trying to figure out just where everyone was. I think the sum would to amount to something similar to my student loan balance, mostly because I learned more during 'Lost' than I ever did at college (probably by choice, even though I was out of college by the time 'Lost' rolled around,) and because I feel that my knowledge from Lost and skills gained trying to solve the mysteries have better prepared me in my professional life as a Trophy Wife.

  • I got my hairs done. A cut and a color. Upon inspection, I should have gotten my hair cut shorter, the split ends are still there. However, the gray is gone. Take that, bitches, I win this round.

  • Everyone here sucks at driving except for me.

  • I've started to incorporate some pretty awesome new insults into my vocabulary. First up is 'chucklefu*k,' which can be dubbed 'chucklehead' when children are around. And the second one is 'bonebrain,' which offends people for some unknown reason, since your brain is pretty much made of bone. I strongly urge you to use these in your next conversation. It's up there with 'clowntown' as a great thing to call someone.

  • If there's one thing I care less about than soccer, it's the NFL. And if there's one thing I care less about than the NFL, it's college football. Fall is my nightmare.

  • And finally, we had grand plans to go to a pumpkin patch today with my sister, her husband, and my niece. Sadly, 85 degree weather does not inspire pumpkin picking, so we hung out at her house instead. What's going on with you, Mother Nature? Save this kind of heat for the dead of January.
