Employed!

YES! The rumors are TRUE! I'm gainfully employed (part-time) again!! I work in Wellesley, and that's all I'm going to say about it. Wellesley... It's nice. It's a nice town. People actually stop for you when you step near a crosswalk, which blows my mind. Here in Natick, people see you in the crosswalk and gun it. In Wellesley they're like, 'Oh, you go ahead. See you at the club later!' Amazing.

So, I work mother's hours, because that exists. And it's brillz. And I got my first paycheck and had to hold on tightly to my head because it was about to explode with joy. Images of shoes, makeup, disco balls, and sunny vacation spots flashed through my head when I was opening it, which was quickly replaced by images of diapers, wipes, and food for Bo because reality struck, and then I opened it. And a picture of a full gas tank flashed through my mind, because that's about all I was going to be able to afford. Well, you get my drift. "Gasoline is so expensive these days." And now you have your Christmas conversation piece. You're welcome.

In other news, it turns out moving to the US has been slightly more difficult than we originally thought. I may have to get a full time job soon, which I'm not delighted about, but the SJC is an incredible stay-at-home Dad, which I'm sure checks all his boxes and makes him feel fulfilled, career-wise. That last part was sarcasm, I know he's itching to get his foot in somewhere here. Regarding what I'm looking for in a full time job, it's fairly easy. One that pays enough for us to maybe, just maybe, move out of my parent's house (me thinks we're about to overstay our welcome) and I'll require health insurance. Anyone have any tips?

And now, for those who are interested, some updates about my child, Bo Diddely. She'll be 7 months old on the 14th - where does the time go? She's on solids and loving it, doesn't care so much for straight water (yet), and still thinks that naps are for the weak. She is also very affectionate. By 'affectionate,' I mean that she attacks people, like a shark, but thinks she is kissing you. She is chatty. She is very chatty. And she hates shoes.

Only 13 days until Lizmas!

What, pray tell, are 'mother's hours'?? I need to get some of those.

I've suggested to Wes that we pop a sprog and he stay at home. Apparently, not so much. I'm not surprised of SJC's response to that one!
